Hadrian's Cavalry 2017

Hadrian's Wall is one of the finest remaining monuments of the Roman Empire, a breathtaking testament to history built in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

If you've ever dreamed about visiting Hadrian's Wall in the stunning Northumberland countryside then now is the time to turn that dream into a reality.

In less than two months a brand new exhibition celebrating the cavalry regiments that once guarded the northernmost border of the Roman Empire will arrive at Hadrian's Wall.

'Hadrian's Cavalry' will stretch the full 150 miles covered by the Roman Wall, from coast to coast across the breadth of the UK, including 10 museums and heritage attractions.  

Exhibitions at many of the Wall's best-preserved forts will include exceptional displays of Roman cavalry armour and weaponry, as well as specially commisioned artworks and immersive film.

Not to be missed is 'Turma!', one of the largest cavalry reenactments ever seen in the UK, which will take place in Carlise on the 1st and 2nd July.
